Beed is Considered to be the most backword district in marathwada region. Beed district belongs to sugarcane cutters ( Ustod). Forlorn and forsaken by the Nizam, Georai was in extreme need of higher education. The College is situated in Beed district which is one of the most severe drought-hit districts in the country.

The district is infamous for its startling hysterectomy records, rampant sex determination, female foeticide, and lack of education. Realising this, honorable Shivajirao (Dada) Pandit established Arts & Science college in Shivajinagar Gadhi under ‘Jai bhavani Shikshan Prasarak Mandal’ in 1974. This college is affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad. To get the all round development of the rural student is, the chief aim of the college. To inculcate the interest of higher education among the rural students is anticipated.
